About The Role
As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you will work closely with your squad and partner teams to ensure we deliver high-quality software products. You will play a key role in establishing the overall quality of practice and processes.
As a Senior QA, you will have leadership within your squad to drive your team's efforts and tasks, acting as an SME and providing inputs to your team members, especially BA, PO and Dev.
Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining testing strategies and capabilities including manual and automation testing
  • Assist with the formulation and implementation of test-first strategies within development squads
  • Work closely with software engineers (developers) to prioritize testing execution and ensure comprehensive test coverage
  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts and other stakeholders to make sure the required business scenarios are covered in the acceptance test criteria and corresponding scripts.
  • Promote QA productivity and efficiency through automation tools and SQA best practices
  • Proactively raise and manage issues and risks promptly.
  • Support Pre and Post release activities
Key Skills
  • Highly Skilled in Test Automation: Effective in utilising a range of contemporary technologies including cloud platforms, open source and 'SaaS' services to better enable and enhance the delivery of automated quality services. Able to stay abreast of industry developments to make cost-effective use of new and emerging tools and technologies. Able to utilise a breadth of knowledge from across the wider technology and digital professions, strengthening the effective delivery of services. Relevant professional awareness may include architecture, continuous integration and deployment, coding, or scripting languages.
  • Experienced in Functional Testing: Able to analyse changes to, or the development of, products and services and plan design. Able to run and manage appropriate tests to ensure that requirements have been fully met. Understands and can identify the most effective techniques, data sets and tools to use. Able to communicate defects or trends clearly to software developers, outlining how defects are identified and the possible causes. Able to design, or provide assurance for, appropriate risk-based end-to-end system integration test models.
  • Experienced in Non-Functional Testing: Able to analyse changes to, or the development of, products and services and plan design in a non-functional environment. Able to run and manage appropriate non-functional tests to ensure that requirements have been fully met.
  • Excellent test analysis skills: Able to identify simple patterns and trends. Investigate problems and opportunities in existing processes and contribute to recommending solutions to these. Works with stakeholders to identify objectives and potential benefits available.
  • Defect tracking and accountability in the process: Able to raise, track and own defect artefacts and the due process to raise and provide resolution to defects raised within the domain area.
  • Proven experience in software development Quality Assurance, preferably in enterprise software applications
  • Good understanding of software development life cycle and SQA methodologies, techniques, and approaches
  • Experience and understanding of shift left testing approach and test pyramid with distinct types of testing including unit, integration, end-to-end, API, regression, performance, and security testing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience as a test lead, and test SME.
  • Hands-on experience in building an API or UI automation framework from scratch.
  • Knowledge and experience in different open-source tools and technologies. E.g., Cypress, playwright, k6, Selenium, Cucumber, java, kotlin, mvn, gradle, github, git, postman, Insomnia etc

  • Leading and communicating: Able to engage, collaborate and communicate the importance of quality with stakeholders across several departments. Able to provide feedback in a positive and empathetic manner.
  • Acting as SME for multiple areas of discipline and able to provide valuable inputs into the multiple areas of knowledge and agile ceremonies.
  • Owning a QA initiative and driving it from a team perspective and being in charge of stakeholders' buy-in, planning, execution, analysis, and sign-off
  • Managing a quality service. Able to conduct effective risk analysis by understanding the possible ramifications of failure to the quality, speed, or value for money of a service. Able to ensure that test activities are run cost-effectively and are completed at a sustainable pace.
  • Seeing the big picture. Able to think broadly and apply strategic thinking. Able to understand the importance of testing to the business. Can pay attention to detail but is also able to see the big picture.
