About the Role
In this role, you will lead the strategy, roadmaps, lifecycle management and technical standards for the applications and platforms used by BHP's External Affairs function.
The role can be based in Brisbane or Perth or Singapore.
Your key accountabilities will include:
- Liaising with key business stakeholders across External Affairs to understand processes, issues, and how technology can best be used to solve business problems.
- Providing expertise to guide the design of technology solutions (Including initiatives for sustainability and climate change, corporate communications and compliance)
- Defining/managing functional and non-functional requirements and transforming them into design solutions.
- Framing and delivering technical roadmaps and opportunity assessments.
- Working with the Cloud Migration Team to re-platform External Affairs applications to comply with BHP's Cloud strategy.
- Assisting with Application Portfolio Simplification
- Ensuring that architectural deliverables are produced to a high quality; and are consistent with existing standards, policies and strategies.
- You are someone who can understand and communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences across all levels of the organisation
- You believe in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, safety, and trust in other words you can influence and get outcomes in a collaborative way
- You have an outstanding skill set in the development of Solution Architecture artefacts and outcomes
- You love working with and learning about new cloud technologies and designing architectures involving SaaS or COTS solutions
- You have experience with (or understanding of) modern data analysis tooling such as Snowflake and PowerBI
- You have an appreciation of delivering global applications with diverse stakeholders.
- You know how to apply both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and practices.
- You are experienced in supporting and enhancing DevOps processes across an application portfolio, including an awareness of DevOps / CICD tooling.
- Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related (STEM) discipline is desirable.
- You are ideally LTA or TOGAF certified.
