About the engagement:
Green Light has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic solution Architect – Data Analytics - to join our clients for their project.
2 x Solution Architects:
1 x Full time role will start in June 2024, for 6 months and 6-month possible extension.
1 x 0.5 FTE (P/T) role is also starting in June, for 6 months and 4-month possible extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop architecture frameworks that integrate OT data sources from heavy industry mobile equipment, fixed assets and simulation rigs using modern technologies and protocols.
- Develop strategies for data acquisition, storage, processing, and analysis of time- series data
- from a variety of mining and rail equipment.
- Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams to understand and map the data flow requirements from IoT systems.
- Build patterns for the securing the data on the edge, during transit and at storage
- Lead the evaluation and selection of data integration tools and technologies to meet business
- needs and architectural standards.
- Define the target data architecture for the business unit covering every stage of data
- management from acquisition to storage and consumption.
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure that data
- solutions support analytical and operational use cases.
- Evaluate data logging software and hardware for the fitment and commercial viability.
- Define and maintain architecture documentation, including data models, integration patterns, and technology choices.
- Provide guidance and leadership on best practices for data governance, security, and compliance in the context of OT data integration.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends related to OT systems, IoT, data
- analytics, and integration platforms.
- Work in close conjunction with Technology SMEs across the business and ensure architecture
- design is aligned with the wider business.
- Groom the product backlog and support the development teams to build the components.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in solution architecture, with a focus on data and integration in industrial or operational technology environments.
- Strong understanding of MQTT, Sparkplug B, and other protocols relevant to OT data
- Experience with time-series databases, data streaming, and big data technologies.
- Familiarity with data integration platforms and ETL tools.
- Deep understanding of AWS, Azure data platforms and Snowflake.
- Proficient in designing and implementing secure and scalable data architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to
- non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Python, Java and .Net framework is highly advantageous.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (i.e. Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, OPC-UA, CAN bus) is highly advantageous.
