What you'll be doing:
An exciting opportunity is now available in our Blue Mountains Hospital, Located in Katoomba for a qualified Sonographer.
This imperative role within the hospital will see you perform transthoracic echocardiograms (stationary or mobile) on outpatients and inpatients in the hospital and from other hospitals and at mobile clinics as well as perform ECG and assist with Transoesophageal Echocardiogram, stress echocardiogram (Exercise and Dobutamine).
At all times within this role you will ensure to use initiative, be flexible and be prepared to work hard when deadlines and other demands are imposed. Ensure that the examination is controlled so that it is completed within the appropriate time and assist CNC with the day to day running of the department.
This role will have you involved in presentations at meetings both within the department and the hospital when required.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection criteria to be addressed: * Diploma of Medical Ultrasound (Cardiac)/Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Ultrasound.
- ASAR accreditation as a qualified sonographer level.
- Demonstrated experience in cardiac ultrasound (Echocardiography).
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and support a harmonious work environment.
- Proven ability to interpret findings and make decisions about additional imaging as required during the course of each test as well as to recognise and communicate significant findings as required.
- Understanding and experience with various echocardiographic machines, their operation and day to day running and maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to provide services to patients in a professional, courteous, respectful and gentle manner.
- Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to use for work purposes.
