About the Practice

South Coast Ultrasound for Women is an outstanding Obstetric & Gynaecological Sonographer to join our wonderful team.
As the only specialist ultrasound practice of its kind within the region, we are at the forefront of Obstetric & Gynaecological imaging and provide a high-quality diagnostic imaging service to patients within the Illawarra and South Coast of NSW. We are recognised as being experts in women's imaging and are referred patients by local specialists and general practitioners. As a result, we have been providing professional medical imaging services to women of all ages since 1990.
Location:
This is for both of our locations in Wollongong and Shellharbour. You will preferably rotate between locations as needed. One scheduled day will either be at Wollongong or Shellharbour.
Sonographers will perform the following services:
- Nuchal translucency
- Morphology
- Growth
- Dating
- Pelvic
- Follicle Tracking
Key Accountabilities:
- Deliver specialist level ultrasound services within a team in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards using high level skills, knowledge and clinical experience with a demonstrated ability to deal with non-routine clinical practice.
- Apply professional judgement and problem solving skills to a complex ultrasound caseload, while also adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
- Exercise independent judgement and problem solving skills in matters beyond routine day to day practices.
- Contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols that support the continuum of care engaging cross-discipline referencing where relevant.
- Actively participate in initiating, developing and implementing quality and service improvement activities that enhance the delivery of the ultrasound imaging services at the practice.
- Consistently be aware of OHS requirements and comply with them.
Communication / Team Participation
- Provide clinical practice supervision to less experienced staff to ensure the maintenance of professional clinical standards within the practice
- Provide non-routine clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors, relevant service managers and other stakeholders working cooperatively and effectively within a team and liaising with patients and their families, other health professionals, supervisors, students and researchers, as required

Essential Qualifications:
- Must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Medical Imaging and a holder of a Post Graduate diploma in Medical Ultrasound or equivalent (DMU).
- Must be registered with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR).
- 3 years’ minimum clinical experience in O&G sonography
Desirable
- Experience in a training role or similar.
- Full AHPRA Registration
- Intermediate Computer skills
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual
Salary: $58– $72.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 38 per week
