Job description:
- Set up, operate, and maintain sound equipment and systems for live events, concerts, and performances.
- Collaborate with production teams to understand audio requirements and provide technical support for sound reinforcement, mixing, and recording.
- Conduct sound checks and rehearsals to ensure optimal sound quality and balance during performances.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide on-site support to address any audio-related problems during events.
- Assist in the installation and configuration of sound systems, including speakers, amplifiers, microphones, and audio processors.
- Monitor sound levels and adjust audio settings as needed to maintain clarity and consistency throughout performances.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards for sound equipment operation and installation.
- Maintain inventory of sound equipment, cables, and accessories, and coordinate repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Coordinate with venue staff and other technical teams to ensure integration of sound equipment with lighting, video, and stage elements for live productions.
- Participate in pre-production meetings and rehearsals.
- Collaborate with artists, musicians, and performers to understand their sound preferences and requirements, and adjust audio settings accordingly.
- Conduct regular maintenance and calibration of sound equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in the setup and operation of audiovisual systems for presentations, conferences, and corporate events as needed.
Qualifications/Attributes:
- Must hold a Certificate IV in Music or at least 3 years of relevant work experience in lieu of the qualification.
- Must possess at least a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must have proficiency in operating sound equipment and systems, including mixing consoles, microphones, amplifiers, and signal processors.
- Strong technical skills in sound reinforcement, audio mixing, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively with others.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments during live performances.
Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000 p.a. excluding superannuation.
