The South Australian Multicultural Commission plays an important role in raising awareness and understanding of multiculturalism and interculturalism in our South Australian community. It draws on the cultural diversity, skills and experience of its members to provide independent advice to the South Australian Government about the advancement of multiculturalism.
The South Australian Multicultural Commission is constituted under the South Australian Multicultural Act 2021 and consists of no more than 15 members with a mix of skills, knowledge and experience. A copy of the Act can be obtained at:

The opportunity exists to fill vacancies for up to 15 places on the Commission from 1 July 2024, including the Chair and Member positions, for a term of up to three years.
South Australians who are passionate about and committed to our state’s cultural diversity, have an extensive knowledge and a deep understanding of our multicultural communities, who are active in their communities or within the multicultural sector, and want to make a positive difference, are encouraged to register their interest to join the Commission by submitting an application in line with the guidelines below.
As a Commission member, you will be an important voice for multicultural communities on issues they face, their needs and aspirations, and you will help ensure those diverse voices are heard within and across Government. You will also provide high level and strategic independent advice to the Minister for Multicultural Affairs and the state government, to help strengthen our state’s multicultural policies, programmes, and celebrations.
