- As the Lead Spatial analyst, you would be supported to grow the spatial side of Lathwida across a range of industry sectors, including mining, infrastructure, energy and renewables.
- Collaboration with our team of consultants and clients would be a daily part of the role.
- Initiate opportunities for establishing field-based data collection maps and tools, providing training and support for the team in how to use them.
- Managing spatial software licencing and portable devices used for field collection.
- Recommending, developing and implementing data management standards, based on a platform of fostering an excellence in data hygiene for incoming and outgoing datasets.
- Developing, delivering and maintaining web mapping services across a range of client industry sectors.
- Demonstrating excellent cartographic skills, guiding and developing map and figure production for publicly available approvals documents that aligns with our high-quality standards and brand.
- Initiating spatial analysis to support our project needs, with a solutions focus to enable accurate and efficient data processing (e.g. pre-selection of sites based on desktop analysis of available information, remote sensing, extrapolation of point data to map broad areas of habitat, etc).
Your career experiences include:
- Tertiary qualifications in spatial sciences or equivalent professional experience is desirable.
- Skills in spatial data and analyses, data management and digital technology including:
- Experience working with a range of data types from different sources and formats (shapefiles, CAD, imagery, local grid coordinates, spatially projected data)
- Working experience with ESRI products (ArcPro, Field Maps, ArcGIS Online).
- Knowledge of other spatial products would be desirable (e.g. online mapping services, data sources, QGIS, Avenza Maps, Google Earth).
- Preparation and upload of offline field maps to portable devices (iPads), and retrieval and processing post-field collection (including spatial data download, processing of spatial attachments, auditing/tidying, conversion to different formats if required, syncing, filing and storage of data and mapping outputs, supply to clients).
- Mapping analysis and presentation for various required outputs to support client and project interaction, for example presentations, high-profile public reports, client-based web maps, online mapping portals.
- Management of spatial devices and programs (e.g. ESRI licencing, spatial extensions, AGOL page, including data storage, archiving).
- Mentoring other team members by fostering spatial development and capability including guidance and ongoing support, as required.
- Experience working in consulting, regulatory primary approvals, construction/engineering (desirable but not essential)
- Experience working with ecological/environmental spatial analyses (desirable but not essential).
