About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Surface Logistics Team as a Copper Specialist.

You will play a pivotal role uplifting the transport and optimisation of our Copper Cathode to Adelaide in preparation for packing and exporting activities. This role also includes a large quality control component to ensure Copper Cathode is meeting the required specifications and standards prior to transportation offsite.  

You will have the ability to develop strong relationships with various stakeholders across the business, including execution teams, global functions such as Warehouse, Inventory and Logistics, as well as external vendors.

This role is based at Olympic Dam on a 7 days on / 7 days off roster with flexibility.  We are happy to consider residential, DIDO or FIFO ex-Adelaide options.

In this role you will:

  • Work within a high performing team demonstrating a culture of care.
  • Review marketing schedules and transport requirements to optimise product order moving offsite
  • Conduct bundle inspections to ensure there are no defects prior to transportation
  • Work in collaboration with the Refinery teams to ensure product quality
  • Enhance operational strategies to optimise transportation availability
  • Develop sparing strategies, including cataloguing, within BHP applications to ensure that downtime is minimised

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in an aligned role
  • Experience with 1SAP (Purchasing, Material Movement and Exporting) will be highly advantageous
  • Highly developed and effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration that supports mutually beneficial outcomes
  • A strong eye for detail
  • Organisational skills for managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, including the ability to interpret reports and balance production figures.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to provide innovative solutions and outcomes
