About the Role
We are seeking Support Workers who are ready to step into a rewarding and dynamic role supporting clients with high-intense needs. The ideal candidate will be caring, warm and diligent in their conduct and will play a vital role in enriching our client's lives through daily capacity building and community engagement.
Selection Criteria
The ideal candidate will have:
- Certificate III (or higher) in Disability Service/Care or other related area/s
- 2 years + experience in Disability Services
- Crisis Prevention & Intervention Certification
- Current First Aid Certification
- Mental Health First Aid/ Trauma-Informed Care Training
- Schizoaffective Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Somatic Symptom Disorder, Autism and ADHD Training/ Awareness
- WA Police Clearance
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current WA Driver’s License and ability to undertake travel as required.
The ideal candidate will be able to:
- Develop therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help manage anxiety, depression, and psychotic symptoms.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, including psychiatrists, behaviour support practitioners, and Support Workers, to provide comprehensive care.
- Support client independence in activities of daily living.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the legal and ethical guidelines around restrictive practices, ensuring they are applied appropriately and reviewed regularly.
- Respond to injuries, self-harm and aggressive behaviours in a proactive and reassuring manner.
- Recognise and manage seizures.
- Respond to Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
