Do you want to be part of a collaborative team working on the first major salt project developed in Australia in two decades?

In collaboration with the Manager Environmental Approvals & Compliance, this role will work with a range of external consultants to support BCI obtaining all environmental approvals and licences required to deliver the Mardie project.

The Company

BCI Minerals Limited (ASX:BCI) is an Australian owned mineral resources company with salt and potash as its initial focus. A future Tier One project, Mardie has been designed to produce 5.35Mtpa of high-purity salt and 140ktpa of Sulphate of Potash (SOP).

Using an inexhaustible seawater resource and 99% of the energy required produced by natural solar and wind energy, our Mardie project is a multi-generational sustainable opportunity that will supply the growing chemical, renewable energy, and agricultural industries with Salt and Sulphate of Potash for generations to come.

The Role

The Specialist Environmental Approvals will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the delivery of environmental approvals to support BCI's project development and operational goals.
  • Working with relevant internal departments to collect or develop information to enable approval applications to be successfully submitted.
  • Providing advice to the business on environmental approval requirements in relation to Project teams deliverables and schedules.
  • Managing environmental surveys and consultants to support the required environmental approvals.
  • Developing and maintain regulatory relationships that assist BCI to secure and maintain its environmental license to operate.
  • Identifying and implement suitable opportunities in the Project design and approvals process to continuously minimise impacts to the environment from BCI projects.
  • Working collaboratively within the Approvals and Government Relations team and with all other business teams to deliver positive environmental and reputational benefits for the business.

About You:

The Specialist Environmental Approvals will have 5-10 years of experience including experience in a similar role within the mining, industrial or infrastructure sectors and/or experience in the delivery or support of environmental approvals under the EP Act, EPBC Act and Mining Act. The successful candidate will be degree qualified in Environmental Science or equivalent, and you will have experience in:

  • Developing and maintaining project approvals schedules
  • Maintaining consultants and specialist technical studies
  • Providing approvals advice and establishing and maintaining internal and external stakeholder relationships

You must have current unrestricted working rights for Australia to be eligible for consideration.
