Job description:
About the role
We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our Environment & Sustainability team, within our Operations Division. This 12-month Fixed Term role can be adapted to suit your lifestyle with the option of part-time or full-time hours and hybrid working on offer.
This role is responsible for the coordination and management of Environmental Approvals required by CBH. The successful candidate will be directly involved in helping CBH achieve outcomes that benefit the environment and the communities in which we operate for the long term.
The key deliverables for the role are:
Coordinate CBH's environmental referral and approval processes. This includes providing Environmental Approvals advice and preparation of approval documentation, environmental management plans, construction environmental management plans and biodiversity offset proposals;
Oversee and facilitate specialised contractors and consultants to ensure environmental reports, referrals and applications are complete and in line with CBH's values and budgets.
Identify inefficiencies in the CBH Environmental Approvals program and drive improvement in the contractor management space;
Identify environmental approval risks and opportunities, ensuring visibility among key stakeholders;
Ensuring that mitigation controls are in place and/or an implementation plan is achieved during the project planning cycle;
Provide technical guidance and support in environmental approval processes to support the execution of specific projects; and
Liaise with State and Commonwealth regulators in relation to CBH projects.
What you will bring to the role:
Minimum of 4+ years working in roles responsible for Environmental Approvals, including working with local, state, and federal environmental regulators;
Tertiary qualified in environmental science or similar;
Previous experience working in an environmental or similar approval role, including working with local, state, and federal government regulators;
A strong ability to interpret technical reports; and
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
