The Role

An exciting newly created role has arisen for an Import and Export Freight Specialist to join our Renal care team. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the management, measurement and control of all ANZ import and Export Freight, in line with company Trade Compliance policies and legal requirements of the Australian Customs Service (ACS). You will leverage industry best practices to drive cost and service improvements in line with the broader Supply Chain strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for shipping requirements – bookings, sailing schedules, changes and rates

  • Liaise with shipping lines, suppliers and transport services to facilitate on time shipment

  • Maintain and handle freight relationships with Vantive Regional and Local teams

  • Assist and communicate with internal Stakeholders on shipments, requirements supporting Customer /patient delivery requirements

  • Identify and drive cost opportunities for streamlining the current logistics processes

  • Co-ordinate information and documentation where required for timely and accurate Customs clearance in line with the ACS requirements and maintain visibility for the business on incoming shipments

  • Create and supply accurate documentation that supports the ACS and other government requirements relating to exporting and importing of Vantive products and associated materials

  • Responsible for analytics Measuring, Monitoring and reporting on freight performance, identify trend, purpose and implement cost actions

  • Update and maintain job instruction breakdowns (JIBs) required for the role

  • Support management on preparation, execution and adherence to transport budget, and prepare data and accruals for financial month end requirements

  • Support in the management of freight forwarders and Customs brokers (if any) to maintain their performance, verifying their billing list and apply for the payment

  • Support on budget inbound freight cost , landed cost and make cost variance analysis as required.

Key Requirements of the role include:

  • Prior working experience dealing with freight forwarders, international trade, transport and logistics companies

  • Detailed knowledge and experience of import and export procedures and requirements as they relate to the management of healthcare products

  • Prior experience working within Consumer Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals or Medical devices is desirable

  • Working with and understanding financial reporting and data related to international freight and trade

  • Working with related operational systems (Transport management systems , Forwarder and Enterprise- ERP systems)

  • Understanding of importation within Australia and New Zealand (example BMSB, Permits, BICON)

  • Highly organized, and process oriented with high attention to detail

  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Strong agility to adapt to new technology and systems is beneficial

  • Expert in MS Excel.
