The Department of Health is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Specialist Medical Practitioner - Psychiatrist. This role is a fixed term full time day worker ( with on call) position. 76 Hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible until 30 Jume 2025. This role is integral to a multidisciplinary youth mental health service (16-25 years of age), delivering high-quality mental health care in accordance with established principles, national standards, agency policies, legal requirements, and relevant professional competencies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide a comprehensive youth psychiatric service within the Youth Mental Health Hospital in the Home Unit.
- Deliver intensive home-based care to consumers of the Y-HiTH within a multidisciplinary team.
- Offer clinical leadership in the assessment and management of individuals with mental health disorders.
- Undertake supervisory responsibilities with Psychiatric Registrars, students, and other medical staff as required.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in Psychiatry.
- Current Working with Children Registration.
- Current Driver's Licence.
Desirable Criteria:
- Supervisor's Certificate or equivalent.
- Certificate of Advanced Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or Certificate of Advanced Training in Adult Psychiatry.
