PositionThis is an exciting opportunity for a passionate, innovative and dedicated Specialist Paediatrician to join a growing, dynamic team as the third Paediatrician.Outdoor coastal lifestyle in an idyllic location with close access to pristine wilderness and national parks.Enjoyable lifestyle within a growing, social, friendly and engaged community.Supportive and committed team of paediatricians and paediatric specialty staff.Paediatric junior medical staff support and support from the newly appointed District Paediatric Clinical Lead.1 in 4 on call roster.Busy outpatient clinics with varied, challenging and interesting paediatric clinical medicine.Teaching opportunities including medical student education, junior medical staff education and education of medical and ancillary staff at local and referring hospitals.Outreach clinic opportunities including outreach multidisciplinary paediatric clinicsOpportunities for service development and for making a substantial contribution to a growing paediatric service.HospitalThe new modern facility, delivering a wide range of new and enhanced medical services to the Valley and broader community is located approximately 1.5 km from the City.The integrated health campus offers extensive community and ambulatory services, community mental health, drug and alcohol services, an emergency department, combined Integrated Critical Care Unit, regional orthopaedic services and expanded surgical, maternity and paediatrics.Paediatric DepartmentA Level 4 Paediatric Unit with 6 paediatric inpatient beds and 4 short stay beds. The department supports a well-staffed and experienced emergency department with 4000 paediatric emergency presentations annually and a 2 bed special care nursery supporting a Level 3 maternity service that delivers 300+ babies per annum.The department provides busy local outpatient paediatric clinics comprising challenging and interesting medicine as well as outreach outpatient services to the region; Provides paediatric education, consultation and support services across the health service.Paediatric medicine and unmet needs for children in the region has been identified as a priority area for this district.As such, this position affords an opportunity to join a team of committed paediatricians in an exciting service development opportunity.Overall, this position is ideally suited to those looking for a great lifestyle in an idyllic location with challenging and rewarding work in rural/regional paediatric medicine as part of a growing, engaged and social regional community with a supportive, committed local paediatric team.LocationSurrounded by places of significant historic and cultural importance, this urban centre of the Sapphire Coast in NSW boasts incredible landscapes.
