Maximising revenue across our domestic and international network by adopting astute pricing strategies, using optimised systems and processes are essential for Qantas Group Profitability.
As part of the Network, Revenue Management & Alliances unit, the Performance Optimisation Specialist is responsible for ensuring the core Revenue Management Systems are being used to their best effect and for managing the support, maintenance, improvement, training and performance functions. The role will require a combination of project management, issue and problem resolution, vendor management and stakeholder management to ensure that the investment made in systems and processes is realised.
The Performance Optimisation Specialist will be the key owner of knowledge in the core systems and the subject matter expert and super user on all aspects of the product and the associated processes. As the conduit between the business, IT and the vendor, the Performance Optimisation Specialist will be responsible for ensuring industry best practise is embedded in strategic plans and operations processes, and for representing the Qantas Group with vendors to effect and influence ongoing product development.
You’ll have –
  • 5+ years’ experience in a performance, IT or commercial related role.
  • Tertiary level education in a relevant discipline e.g. Computer Science, Economics or Commerce (Master’s Degree preferred).
  • Excellent knowledge and deep working experience with airline Revenue management, inventory and pricing systems and proven capability in yield management practices and objectives. Experience with Amadeus products will be an advantage.
  • Strong working knowledge of airline reservation systems and process, global distribution systems and integration between these systems.
  • Experience working with EDIFACT messages and use for testing changes, analysis of issues reported.
  • Demonstrated recent knowledge and experience in gathering requirements, writing system and process specifications, testing, project delivery, delivery of releases and upgrades to users.
  • Experience supporting end users with queries on system functions, analysing issues raised and ability to prioritise and work on high impact items with urgency.
  • Can work individually and in a team with the ability to lead or work on multiple projects as necessary.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for logical analysis, problem identification and problem solving in complex system architectures with multiple integration points.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence decision-making at a senior level with customers and internal colleagues.
  • Sound business judgment and ability to evaluate impact of change at a detailed level, taking responsibility for outcomes and being proactive in delivering results.
  • Highly developed time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work quickly and accurately on complex tasks.
