Specialty Doctor In City Central/Willows

Applications are invited for a full-time Specialty Doctor in Adult Mental Health, at City Central LMHT/Willows. This will be based at Highbury Hospital.The post is a community and inpatient role. The Willows is a male PICU with up to 9 beds.Main duties of the jobLMHT - Themainfocusoftherolewillincludetheassessmentofnewpatients referredto theservice, GP liaison work, management of patients within the recovery model, Mental Health Actwork(Section12)when required, day on-callduty rota (this will be based ona pro rata and onaverage3to4timesamonthforemergencyworkonly,itisfactoredintothesessionsanddoesnotimpactonwork asitisalastresortcover),coverforcolleagueswhenonleaveandworkingwithinthemultidisciplinaryteamsupporting other members of the team.Willows - The main focus of this role is to provide medical input for psychiatric clerking, mental state examination, regular reviews of the patients, attending ward rounds and MDT meetings.About usNottinghamshire Healthcare provides integrated healthcare services, including mental health, intellectual disability and physical health services. Job responsibilities

• Attend team meetings, support the triage function of the team, support the duty workers with urgent clinical situations, undertake new patient reviews, including completing formulations and risk assessments for these patients,beavailableforclinicaldiscussionswithteammembersaboutpatientsontheteamcaseload,holdfollow up reviews of patients on the postholders case load
• Takeajoint leadinthemanagementofcomplexcases along with the consultants.
• Provideclinicalleadershipofteam,engagementwithMDTandRAMM
• Provideassessmentsofnewpatientsandformulatetreatment/careplans.
• Supportthetriagefunctionsoftheteamifrequested,withmedicalexpertise.
• Touseevidence-basedtreatmentandfollowlocalandnationalguidelines.
• To work collaboratively and liaison with other teams within the Trust, other NHS organisations and third sectorproviders.
• TousetheMentalHealthAct,asappropriate,withinthecourseoftheirduties.

• Liaisingwithgeneralpractitionersandmedicalspecialistswithregardsthephysicalhealthofthepatients.
• Assessmentofpatientsoutofareaonrareoccasions,thiswillbeinexceptionalsituationsonly.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential

• MB BS or equivalent medical qualification

Desirable

• Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management

Eligibility
Essential

• Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment

Desirable

• In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice
• Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 6 months of appointment

Transport

• Holds and will use valid UK driving licence OR provides evidence of proposed alternative.

• Excellent knowledge in specialty
• Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge
