Speech and Language Pathologist

The Speech Pathologist is responsible for conducting screenings, assessing participants' conditions, and designing therapy plans to develop necessary speech skills. All practices prioritize participants' choices, rights, and decisions. Given the variable nature of participants, the role involves promoting their voices and choices while reporting any concerns. The Speech Pathologist ensures adherence to Child Safe Standards in all practices, placing the participant at the centre of care.
Speech Therapists are required to follow all policies and procedures and report to management:

• Changes in participant circumstances or environment.
• Work health and safety issues and concerns.
• Need for resources to undertake the role.
• If you think that the participant is experiencing discrimination, exploitation, neglect, abuse, or violence.
• When unsure of actions that should be undertaken; stressed or anxious feelings.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Communicating with key stakeholders and allied health professionals regularly to provide optimal client care, such as Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Exercise Physiologists, Support Coordinators, etc.
• Writing NDIS and review reports.

Required Skills and Experience:

• A Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) or equivalent
• Registration with Speech Pathology Australia
• Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status
• Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
• Excellent time management
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and problem solving
• Honesty, integrity, a good team attitude and positive approach
• Police Check or willing to apply
• NDIS screening check or willing to apply
• COVID 19 vaccine certificate
• Current Drivers License.
• Current CPR / First Aid Certificate.
• New Worker NDIS Induction Module
• Ability to register for a Medicare Provider number
