We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services.Permanent PositionFull Time at 80 hours per fortnight including ADOGrade 1Speech Pathologist Classification (VP3-VP7)ABI Rehabilitation Service, Caulfield HospitalThe DepartmentAlfred Health's Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Rehabilitation Centre provides rehabilitation services for people with moderate to severe acquired brain injuries including traumatic brain injuries, stroke, hypoxic brain injuries and other causes of non-progressive Brain Injury. The service is comprised of a 41-bed inpatient rehabilitation service, a community rehabilitation service and a 4-bed transitional living service.The Position SummaryWe are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and skilled Speech Pathologist to provide high-quality assessment and management of clients within the ABI Rehabilitation Service. You will also contribute to quality improvement and research activities within the ABI Service and broader speech pathology department.The Grade 1 clinician is responsible for:

• Providing assessment and management of patients within the ABI Service, primarily in the areas of communication, cognition and swallowing
• Contributing to an interdisciplinary team approach to achieve optimal patient care and outcomes and to minimise clinical risk.
• Contributing to complex discharge planning, including NDIS and TAC processes

Skills and Experience RequiredA recognised degree in Speech PathologyEligibility for membership of Speech Pathology AustraliaClinical experience in providing high-level assessment and management of clients with an ABIDemonstrated experience in and knowledge of the clinical areas of dysphagia, communication and cognitionExperience with tracheostomy management is desirable but not essentialExperience working as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality rehabilitation within a patient-centred, goal-directed frameworkStaff Benefits
