Both Moree and Narrabri have part-time positions within their community team, which could be combined to create a full-time position (or remain part-time if desired).Where you'll be working:Moree Community Health -
This position will see you working as part of the experienced and supportive team at Moree Community Health Service as a Speech Pathologist. Providing a high-quality clinical service, you will ensure optimal health outcomes are reached for all clients and their families/carers. This is a chance to fast-track your career due to ongoing exposure to different clinical areas and presentations across the lifespan, from paediatrics to aged care. You would have the flexibility and independence to manage your own caseload as well as contribute positively to the wider multidisciplinary team. With another Speech Pathologist onsite, you would have support available for any clinical questions.Narrabri Community Health -The position supports the acute service in Narrabri hospital, adult and paediatric community clients, and aged care in Boggabri MPS. Being a diverse caseload, you would be able to develop generalist skills and gain confidence in managing different conditions. You would be actively supported with clinical supervision arrangements from a well-developed Northern Speech Pathology Network.About the Services:The Speech Pathology team services the Moree and Warialda acute, community and aged care services and provides outreach school programs to Moree, Toomelah and Mungindi. With a high Indigenous population, the department has established strong working relationships with community partners such as Kiah Preschool, the local Aboriginal preschool in Moree, and schools in the Aboriginal communities of Toomelah and Boggabilla. In recognition of their collaborative approach and innovative service delivery, the department have previously been a finalist at the NSW Health Aboriginal Health Awards, and in 2020 they were awarded the ‘Commitment to Aboriginal Health’ award at the HNELHD Allied Health Awards.
The Narrabri Speech pathologist will be working in Narrabri, Wee Waa and Boggabri acute, community and aged care services. The service is well supported by senior experienced clinicians who provide professional supervision and mentoring.
Moree and Narrabri are about 1 hours drive apart, so these roles could be combined for a full-time position if desired.About Hunter New England Local Health District:

Requirements:
  • Will be highly motivated to provide evidence based, excellent Speech Pathology assessment and intervention that seeks to support best practice patient outcomes.
  • Have high level communication skills, and be able to build rapport with patients across the lifespan
  • Be effective in managing their time and be confident working independently with minimal supervision (dependent upon the position).
  • Love working in a team and working with other health professionals to achieve patient goals
