This full-time role will see you providing your expertise and services in our clinics and throughout the community. This caseload is extremely varied and includes a range of referrals for children and adults with neurological, sensory, and physical impairments, providing the opportunity for individualised case-loads designed to meet your experience and interests.
Responsibilities
- Apply a high level of professional judgement and knowledge to provide a wide range of speech and language supports to adolescents and adults with a variety of needs;
- Design intervention plans that are holistic, client-centred, and outcome-driven;
- Provide support to and assisting clients, carers, and families with the implementation of intervention plans and programs;
- Develop care plans and writing comprehensive reports based on advanced clinical understanding, application of various clinical assessments, and implementation of appropriate interventions to address prioritised needs;
- Liaise with other health professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the client;
- Educate family, carers, teachers etc on strategies to improve client’s development and independence.
- Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent
- Current registration to Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) or willing to obtain
- Current driver’s licence and access to own transport
- Minimum of 2 years paid experience as a speech pathologist.
- Current First Aid certificate and CPR or willing to obtain
- Current and clear National Police Check certificate
- Ability to self-motivate and self-manage, and a strong team ethic
- Demonstrates knowledge of learning difficulties, sensory processing difficulties, and motor skills difficulties, and child development.
- Compile and provide comprehensive reports and or intervention plans and programs
- High level of commitment to customer service with advanced oral and written communication skills, and proficient computer skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Experience in Paediatric Speech Therapy is highly desirable but not essential
