Our Rollingstock Specialist Engineering team are looking for a qualified full time Senior Rollingstock Assurance Officer.
Join the team on a fixed term Queensland Rail employment agreement until 11 October 2024 based in Maryborough, with a possibility of an extension until end December 2024.

This role will provide expert advice on technical issues in all phases of the overhaul and modification of passenger rolling stock and major components.

Here are some of the core responsibilities for this role:
- Provide technical assistance and expert advice on rolling stock undergoing modification and overhaul.
- Conduct quality audits and inspections on rolling stock during the modification and overhaul process.
- Monitor stages of the rolling stock modification and overhaul process and provide update reports to Queensland Rail engineers and project managers on production progress and any identified issues.
- Assist contractor's staff with commissioning and testing activities.
- Liaise with technical and trade staff and other Queensland Rail staff regarding rollingstock issues.
What you will bring:
- Knowledge of the technical operation, maintenance requirements, servicing and repair of rollingstock and associated equipment.
- Skill in the implementation of quality improvement principles in relation to rollingstock reliability and performance.
- Substantial skill in undertaking technical investigations, rollingstock tests, problem solving, trial modifications and preparation of technical reports.
- High level of skill in acting autonomously and independently in a hybrid working team.
The follow qualification is required at the time of application:
- Diploma of Mechanical Engineering or higher.
Qualifications will need to be verified/assessed to have met Australian requirements and accepted by Queensland Rail.
