The Role
CBCity is on the lookout for enthusiastic Sports Centre Assistants to infuse their love for sports and outstanding customer service at Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre.


Your role includes not only delivering top-notch customer service with professionalism and courtesy, along with handling administrative duties but also ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment in line with Council policies and industry standards.


You'll be the go-to person to resolve customer inquiries and issues, providing accurate information about Council services through personal attention or referral to specialised staff.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Handle a wide range of inquiries in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Ensure a positive customer experience by providing excellent customer service, handling complaints, and feedback.
  • Be the first point of contact for customer inquiries and requests, maintaining high service standards.
  • Escalate customer issues to other departments when necessary.
  • Promote a commitment to customer satisfaction across the organisation.
  • Perform cashier duties using the POS system and ensure accurate reporting and balancing.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and security in the Centre.
  • Properly handle and store equipment, assist with programs, and perform first aid as needed.
  • Encourage teamwork and communication through collaborative practices.
  • Keep accurate documentation following customer service procedures.
  • Assist with reception and kiosk duties, including food preparation and general cleaning.
  • Take care of day-to-day cleaning needs in common areas, amenities, and the kiosk.

You will have:

  • A valid First Aid Certificate.
  • A current Working with Children's Check.
  • Prior experience in a customer service setting with outstanding customer service skills.
  • Background in working at an indoor recreational facility or a comparable environment.
  • Proficiency in using a Point of Sale (POS) system, including reporting and balancing.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing customer relationships.
  • Computer literacy skills.
  • Experience with facility bookings or a similar role (desired).
  • Experience in competition management (desired).
  • Experience in children's programming (desired).

This hourly rate for this casual opportunity commences at $36.80 per hour (Grade B, Step 1) + 11% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
