MLC School is looking for passionate and experienced Sports Coaches who will be responsible for the delivery of the relevant Sports programs at MLC School, including Artistic Gymnastics (Intermediate accreditation and above), Tennis, Touch Football, Basketball, and Diving.

Founded in 1886, MLC School is an independent, nonselective Uniting Church school for girls from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 in Sydney’s inner-west. Our tagline ‘dare to be more’ is not only our goal for our students, it applies equally to our staff.

About the position
Sports Coaches ensure that MLC School policies and procedures are applied effectively through all training sessions and competition situations, and that each of these sessions are underpinned by the school’s key values of Sport. These values are: Pastoral Care of children, Principle of Fair Play, Participation, Development of all students in the Sports Program, and Teamwork.
Selection Criteria:
You will be able to demonstrate your ability and commitment to:
- Working within an existing program and structure
- Availability to work on selected mornings from 6:45am - 8:00am, Afternoons 3:00pm - 4:30pm and Weekends
- Monitoring and coaching of students to improve their skills, conditioning and performance
- Ensuring sessions commence on time and run for the full period, appropriate warm-up and cool-down activities are used, and actively involving all students in training
- Submitting completed attendance roles, team sheets, competition reports and other administrative duties as required
- Representing the School in a professional manner, including dress and communication style.
Essential qualifications for this position include:
- Coaching Qualifications
- Completion of General Principals of Coaching Course: sportaus.gov.au/coaches_and_officials/coaches
- Current NSW Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid/CPR (desirable)
- Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination
