Opportunity for a Trades Professional/Handyman with a passion to be a part of a small team working for a dynamic specialist sports infrastructure company who has cornered their market.
This role would suit someone semi-retired, or otherwise looking to work only a few days of the week to subsidise their retirement, or earn some extra cash during the week while they're free. But this preferrable will easily build into full time role with some clerical work.
A bit about us
Established for over 14yrs we are a respected leader in supplying, installing and maintaining sports infrastructure to our established client base. This includes, Local Government facilities, Primary and Secondary Schools, Universities and private sporting facilities. Over the years, we have been involved in events such as the 2018 Commonwealth Games, World League Volleyball, World Cup Hockey, and the Australian Institute of Sport.
The Role
Due to sustained growth we are looking for a trade professional who can;
- General inspection, maintenance and servicing of roof-mounted sporting equipment such as Basketball Backstops, Dividing Curtains etc. Checking fittings, cables, goal heights etc and making corrections when required. Fill in Check List and take photos via Tablet App.
- Fix and assess minor repairs. Work through an itemised Check List.
- Work with a diverse but small team that will require a team-player attitude as well as an independent capacity too.
- The ability to be adaptable, show strong attention to detail.
- Be organized, and very reliable.
- Positive attitude.
- Work in accordance with the company’s health and safety guidelines.
- This is a new position and we hope it will grow immensely to be a full time and even additional technicians to help.
- Work off our Manlift or hired Scissorlift so will require a EWP License.
- Able to work at heights up to 11m.
- Able to work around Sports Centres and schools schedules with a 7am start time on site.
- Be able to work in with the Installation team to gain knowledge and fill in when required.
- Some regional and interstate travel may be required. Fly in or regional driving.
The ideal candidate will have
- The ability to work honestly unsupervised. Honesty is a key requirement.
- A proven track record in a similar environment
- Own reliable transport with a towbar.
- Own tools.
- Full Drivers license with the ability to drive both Manual & Automatic
- Someone who is physically fit, has a get-up-and-go attitude and be someone who won’t stop until the job is completed in a safe and presentable manner
- Must have a Blue Card for schools.
- Must have an EWP license for Scissorlift and Manlift up to 10m.
- Must have White Card for construction sites.
- Be able to complete Checklist, Reports etc.
