About the role As a Sports Program Officer, you will be responsible for providing coaching experiences for participants at the YMCA. The Sports Programs officer will enjoy working in a team-based environment, have a genuine concern for, and interest in the wellbeing and educational needs of participants. You will plan and deliver challenging and developmentally appropriate programs for all participants.
Your role will involve:Instructing and interacting with participants and guardians providing effective direction, feedback and support
Displaying interest, enthusiasm, patience, respect and innovation to participants and peers
Constructing and implementing lesson plans that promote group-teaching methods, combining skill development with fun, physical activity and enhancing the developmental assets aspect of YMCA programs
Directing and supporting volunteer coaches
Keeping accurate records of all classes taught and students in classes
Complying with procedures for safety, training, purchasing, document control, internal quality audits, corrective and preventative action, customer complaints and control of non-conforming products
This is a casual role with an hourly rate is $29.56 super.About the centre

Essential Qualifications CPR certificate
First Aid certificate
Cert 1 in Sports Coaching, Basketball, Soccer, Netball, Tennis and Gymnastics desirable, but not essential
Personal experience in gymnastics is not essential, but may be beneficial to the role
