Murrumbeena Football Netball Club is seeking highly motivated individuals to join the club as Sports Trainers for our upcoming 2024 season. Successful individuals will work across our Senior men's, Women's and Under 19’s teams.
The Position
The position of Sports Trainer is an important Game Day position in the Club that provides player strapping (ankle, thumb, shoulder, knee, wrist etc.) prior to games, as well as sitting on the bench to observe and attend to players injured during games. Post-game treatment (icing injuries and strapping injuries or concussion observation) may also be required, as will reporting of any injuries needing follow up.
Duties:
- Assist and report to Head Trainer
- Sports Massage
- Sports Taping
- Injury management
- Assisting with match day team requirements
- Liaising with players, other trainers, and coaching staff in order to prioritise player wellbeing
Desirable attributes:
- Flexibility to attend Tuesday and/or Thursday training nights, and Saturday game day (minimum 3 hours)
- Willingness to travel to away games, all within the South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a team and individually
- Current CPR and First Aid Certificates, current Level 1 Sports Trainer Certification
The club is happy to discuss options for obtaining these certifications if not already held
- Drivers Licence
This position is ideal for Allied Health Students looking to gain experience in the sporting industry.
Remuneration
- Remuneration is negotiable depending on experience.
