Maxima, and Mount Osmond Golf Club, are looking for a green thumb to undertake a Sports Turf Management Traineeship.
This diverse, 4-year fulltime role, will see you assisting the Course Superintendent to carry out the maintenance and development of the golf course.
You will develop relevant skills and knowledge within the industry through working hands-on, and support this with study on-the-job towards a nationally recognised Certificate III in Sports Turf Management.
Duties Include:
- Turf management including mowing and whipper snipping
- Golf course preparation
- Pest and weed control
- Irrigation maintenance and installation
- Rake sand bunkers
- Relocate holes
- Enjoy working outdoors and with garden tools
- Strong work ethic; reliable and punctual
- Ability to prioritise time and tasks when working under pressure
- Works effectively within a team and unsupervised
- Great communication skills
- Have a can-do attitude and willing to learn
- Available to work between the hours of 5am-1pm
- Current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
- Physically fit and healthy due to undertaking manual labour work
- Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment assessment, including a drug and alcohol test
- Previous experience in gardening, horticulture, or similar (advantageous)
- A general understanding and interest of the game of golf (advantageous)
