Fire Industry Training (FIT) provides a range of national training programs for the Fire Protection Industry, with campuses in Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales. Owned by the Industry, FIT strives to deliver high quality training, which is effective, timely and contributes to a well-trained, highly skilled workforce.
FIT is looking for a number of enthusiastic Sprinkler Fitter Trainer and Assessors for our Brunswick facility. We are looking for individuals who are motivated to deliver high quality training to the next generation of Sprinkler Fitter apprentices.
About this role
We are looking for quality trainers who can:
- Provide effective face to face delivery of training and assessment of nationally accredited courses in the Certificate III in Fire Protection (CPCP32820) and the post-trade area.
- Create a safe and positive learning environment ensuring that all training currently aligns with industry standards and the latest contemporary industry practices.
- Effectively demonstrate, coach and mentor apprentices through 3–4-year apprenticeships.
- Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions ensuring all students are actively participating and progressing through their apprenticeship.
- Complete both theoretical and practical assessments and provide timely feedback to all students.
- Assist with activities associated with the running of the facility
- Upgrade and maintain your industry qualifications to ensure all RTO and licensing requirements are met including VET currencies.
- Play a key role in establishing a collaborative, dynamic and innovative training team bringing your fire industry expertise to the fore.
Our ideal applicants will have:
- At least 5 years' industry fire experience as a qualified Fire Sprinkler Fitter
- Current VBA Registration
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Basic computer skills and the ability to adapt to emerging technologies
- Demonstrate a passion for the Fire Protection Industry and the willingness to excite the future generation of Sprinkler Fitters
- Ability to work in a team
- Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
