Talk to us about how these arrangements might work for you.See yourself in our teamAs a Staff SRE Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, scalability and security of the cloud hosting platforms that are used across the board by application teams developing on these platforms. You will be a champion for DevSecOps and SRE best practices and your expertise in SRE engineering will be a crucial element for you to be successful in this role.You’ll manage and optimise the platforms used to power our entire business. You’ll have the opportunity to take responsibility for continuous improvement, ensuring our systems are simpler, faster and more secure.The cloud movement at CommBank is going strong and continues to grow. - Have in depth experience in developing and operating large-scale distributed SRE/platform tooling, always with automation in mind at and expert level
- Have experience in gathering and analysing metrics from cloud platforms to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
- Have rich experience in system design consulting, cloud platform management and capacity planning
- Have experience in driving automation and implementing end to end monitoring and observability dashboards across cloud hosting platforms
- Have experience in applying Software Engineering principles to our operational services
- Have excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills on cloud deployments.
- Thrive working in incident response environments, designing and implementing secured solutions.
- Have experience in measuring and continuously optimising system performance with an eye toward pushing capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs and innovating for continuous improvement
- Are passionate about DevOps/Automation and have a powerful desire to solve complex problems in a systematic approach - e.g using PowerShell.
Tech skillsWe use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but having significant experience and exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team
- Cloud experience, specifically with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Systems Manager, alongwith experience with observability toolset such as Prometheus, Grafana, Mirmir. Logging & monitoring experience: CloudWatch, AppDynamics, Splunk.
- Automating repetitive tasks using Python, shell scripting, PowerShell etc.
- Experience operating and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines, such as GitHub, TeamCity, Jenkins, Artifactory, Octopus Deploy
