Department
The Staff Immunisation and Exposure Management Unit works with the Infection Prevention and Healthcare Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases Units to provide a comprehensive immunisation and exposure management service across Alfred Health. The department is located at the Alfred Hospital. Satellite immunisation services are provided at Caulfield and Sandringham Hospitals. The service is supported by an Infectious Diseases Physician one session per week.
Position
The Staff Immunisation and Exposure Management Nurse will work with other members of the Staff Immunisation and Exposure Management Team and the Infection Prevention Team to manage health care worker immunisation services and undertake management of infectious disease exposures, for staff across Alfred Health. The Staff Immunisation service nurse (s) will be directly responsible for documentation, data analysis, report writing, pre-employment screening and initiatives to improve immunisation uptake and reduce exposure risk across Alfred Health. From time to time at the direction of the Manager of Infection Prevention and Health Care Epidemiology, all Staff Immunisation and Exposure Nurses may need to work across all sites covering all aspects of the service. The successful applicant will hold a current Accredited Nurse Immuniser certificate and will have at least 3 years of clinical experience.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Registered Nurse Division 1
  • Current Nurse Immunisation Course
  • Three years post-graduation clinical experience
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training or other relevant qualification desirable but not essential
  • Venepuncture skills
