Our clients, based in Victoria are currently looking for a Staff Specialist - Anaesthetics to join their team.

The Position:

Applications are invited from Consultant Anaesthetists holding a FANZCA or equivalent and registrable in Victoria for a full-time position.

As a Staff Specialist Anaesthetist you will be responsible for providing a professional clinical anaesthetic service to hospital patients, along with actively contributing to continuous quality improvement in the interests of effective and efficient patient care.

The annual fulltime base salary offered for this position is $228,857 - $314,683 (dependent upon years of service). Allowances will be offered in addition to the base salary as outlined in the AMA Victoria - Public Health Sector Medical Specialists Enterprise Agreement.

The Staff Specialist Anaesthetist will need to demonstrate:

• Current Relevant registration with AHPRA (or ability to gain registration)
• Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) (or equivalent)
• Considerable clinical anaesthetic experience
• Intensive Care experience desirable

The Department/ Hospital:

The hospital is a modern 165 bed (level 1) Tertiary teaching Hospital. The Hospital is managed by  a Health Care in a contractual arrangement with the Victorian Government. The hospital provides public hospital services on behalf of the Victorian Government to the Community and the District, and we are looking for a Staff Specialist Anaesthetist to join us.

Surgical procedures performed annually at the hospital include ENT, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Urology and Ophthalmology. The Hospital also has a state of the art Intensive Care Unit opened in September 2019 with 8 ICU/HDU beds.

The Location:

The region is in north-west Victoria and is set on the banks of the magnificent Murray River, and has a population of around 60,000. We are within an hour flying time to Melbourne and Adelaide with our airport serviced by Qantas, Virgin Australia and REX Airlines.

It has the perfect Mediterranean climate, with our high number of warm sunny days perfect for visiting our many cafes and restaurants or relaxing by the Murray River. It has great shopping precincts and markets, excellent sporting and cultural facilities, hosts numerous festivals and has many high performing public and private schools.
