The Royal Hobart Hospital and Department of Haematology is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for a Staff Specialist - Clinical Haematologist vacancy.We seek a skilled haematologist ideally with clinical and laboratory qualifications to be part of a dynamic Haematology service.Who are we?Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania's largest hospital and major referral centre. As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH collaborates with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.The Haematology Department provides comprehensive care to Tasmanian patients with benign and malignant blood disorders. Haematologists work in a multidisciplinary team and supervise advanced trainees and junior doctors. The culture of the unit is highly supportive and focussed on excellent patient care. There is also an active clinical trials unit.The Role
- Provide a consultant service in clinical and diagnostic haematology, including inpatient and outpatient care in haematology, to public and private patients of the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH).
- Be involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

- Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $291,472 - $301,349 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award
- Allowance in lieu of motor vehicle currently set at $27,535 pro rata per annum, paid fortnightly (with CPI indexation on 1 July each year).
- Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,000 pro rata per annum pro rata.
- Relocation allowance.
- On call allowance % of Base Salary.
- All other allowances as per current Award.
- And subject to approval from the Private Patient Scheme Committee (PPS), 35% of Base salary plus on-call, pro rata) of additional payment will be paid from (PPS). If not admitted to the PPS, a 35% in lieu of PPS of base salary will be paid.

- Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications to practice in clinical and diagnostic haematology
