We are seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates to join PRS, based at Morisset Hospital.
The role involces providing high quality, evidence based and patient-focused psychiatric services to civil and forensic inpatients and outpatients including:
- Providing management within a biopsychosocial framework to patients who have mental, behavioural or emotional disorders.
- Leading a the multidisciplinary clinical team in providing a high quality, safe and recovery-oriented Rehabilitation Services.
- Providing consultation to other medical practitioners on Psychiatric Rehabilitation.
- Attending to basic physical health needs of patients of the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Service, which may involve consulting or referring to a general practitioner or Specialist in the area.
- Possess current knowledge or willingness to learn about relevant NSW legislation and NSW forensic policies.Providing leadership to support the transition of long-stay mental health patients into appropriate community-based living and services.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases - this is a Category A position. Please read and understand NSW Health policy directive (PD2022_030). All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in the policy.
- A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the FRANZCP and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
- Evidence of being a medical expert, demonstrated by recent and comprehensive experience in PSYCHIATRY, preferably Psychiatric Rehabilitation.
- Evidence of being a scholar, maintains medical professional development and has the ability to assist other staff, including trainees in the acquisition and development of knowledge.
- Evidence of being a skilled communicator, including both oral and written skills, communicating with patients, students, other health professionals and the public. Evidence of being a collaborator,including the ability to network and operate within an interdisciplinary framework and to work with other stakeholders in a variety of settings.
- Evidence of being a manager, including ability to be flexible and cope with a changing health system, past leadership and management experience and previous safety and quality improvement activities.
- Evidence of being a professional, including continued professional development, peer review and other forms of clinical governance.
- Evidence of being an advocate, including contributions to improving individual and societal health.
