About the role

This position is part of the Public Intoxication Response and sits within the AOD Outreach cluster. The Public Intoxication Response service will deliver a health response to people intoxicated in metro Melbourne in line with the recent decriminalisation of public intoxication by the Victorian Government.

As a Stakeholder Partnerships Facilitator in this program, you will lead the identification, prioritisation and liaison with key stakeholders across metro Melbourne and the formation of service partnerships with key agencies such as emergency responders, service providers, local government as well as community groups, event managers and liquor licensing forum members. The role will ensure key local stakeholders are active partners through participatory mechanisms appropriate to their interface with the health service response.

Your duties include:

  • Develop a key stakeholder engagement and participation plan to enable the delivery of reputable, responsive and safe public intoxication response services across metro Melbourne.
  • Identify, build and strengthen strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including departmental staff, funding bodies, partner organisations, consumers and community members, consumer representative bodies, and other staff to build the social license for the service and cohealth's role in delivery
  • Lead engagement with local stakeholders, community organisations and other participants to develop, implement and evaluate appropriate governance structures and other participatory mechanisms, and
  • Effectively chair, facilitate and coordinate nominated groups/activities
  • Support the introduction of new ways of working which are evidenced based, networked, participatory, team lead and self-organising

Our ideal candidate:

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in community development, program management, facilitation and/or quality improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand of the intent of policy reform, scope of the service and key issues affecting people with multiple and complex needs who use alcohol and other drugs, and to work from a human rights and community participation framework.
  • Demonstrated project management skills including designing, facilitating, promoting and evaluating activities that strengthen participation and engagement, building the capacity, safety and empowerment of stakeholders.
  • Highly developed stakeholder relations and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and partners in a politically sensitive environment.
  • Victorian Driving License mandatory

All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Police Check, a Working With Children Check (WWCC), complete a Statutory Declaration, evidence of legal rights to work in Australia, and evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 (3 doses). Additionally, some roles will also require current AHPRA registration and/or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.

Roles that are determined to be Risk Category A or B [staff that have direct and/or indirect contact with body substances and are at higher risk of occupational exposure to infections] will be required to provide evidence of immunisation assessment including Influenza prior to commencement [A] or within 12 weeks of commencement [B]. This is in accordance with the Victorian Minister of Health Mandatory Vaccination Orders for COVID-19 and legislated requirement for influenza vaccination.
