About The Opportunity
We are seeking a State Manager to lead and grow our Building Projects team that provides end-to-end management services for a variety of building and property infrastructure projects. This position is responsible for state P&L accountability, employee and operations management, business development, account management as well as strategic input within the wider Property Services division.
This permanent full-time position is based in Brisbane (Wacol), QLD and presents an opportunity to lever your trades knowledge and business acumen while having a meaningful impact at work with an organisation that supports balancing your passions.

Key Responsibilities
Leveraging your strong operations background and business acumen, your key responsibilities will be to:
- Oversee state operations
- Coach, mentor and lead state Building Projects management team
- Deliver exceptional customer relationship management
- Partner with clients and operations team to achieve organic & new growth objectives
- Profit & loss budget management
- Continually improve strategies and processes to increase performance
- Provide expert knowledge to the development of bids & tenders
- Promote and develop a safety culture across the business
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a motivated professional with a ‘can-do’ attitude, knack for people engagement and drive for operational excellence. A background or strong knowledge of the building industry or maintenance services is also highly desirable, however not essential (building, carpentry, fit-out and refurbishment, facilities maintenance etc).
Additionally, you will demonstrate and possess the following:
- Tertiary business qualification or equivalent working experience.
- Building or construction qualification(s) and/or experience highly desirable.
- Demonstrated management experience including P&L responsibility.
- Highly developed communication and robust stakeholder engagement ability.
- Proactive approach to relationship management and business development.
- Ability to estimate and quote project work, desirable.
- Building License (QBCC) beneficial, however not essential.
