Job description

The role:
The Statewide Inventory Manager leads change across all inventory practices and procedures within the Statewide Supply unit. Providing high-level advice and expertise in best practice inventory management principles, the role will focus on moving Statewide Supply into a more contemporary, effective, and efficient inventory model, using modern, progressive inventory techniques to reduce the Departments exposure to inventory obsolescence.
Whilst this position is a Statewide role, the preference is for the role to sit in our Launceston based Distribution Centre. We work in an open office environment with plenty of natural light and great views. The Statewide Supply Department are a very dynamic and enthusiastic team. We offer flexible working hours and weekends are not required to be worked. This role is required to travel to Hobart 4 to 6 times per year.

Details of Appointment
Fixed term full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 5 February 2024 until 4 February 2027
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $104,756 - $118,730 per annum + 11% superannuation
Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
Eligibility:
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
Formal qualifications in business analysis, Inventory management and business process improvement.
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
Conviction checks in the following areas:
crimes of violence
sex related offences
serious drug offences
crimes involving dishonesty
Identification check
Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
