About the Property
Helen Springs Station, located in the Barkly Tablelands in the Northern Territory, spans an impressive 5,600km2 and serves as a breeding property for up 27,000 head of cattle. Lush green gardens and lawns surround the station complex, which includes a swimming pool and social club. In your down time you might like to visit the nearest town, Tennant Creek. Helen Springs prides itself on providing a workplace that encourages personal growth, in a friendly and supportive team-based environment. Throughout the year, mustering operations and general station work intertwines with social events across the NT.
About the role
Reporting to the Station Manager, the Station Cook is responsible for planning, preparing and cooking nutritious meals for our team members and visitors.
Duties include:
- Preparing tasty, nutritious, home-style meals four times a day for around 20 team members (breakfast, morning tea, lunch and dinner)
- Menu and food stores planning
- Cleaning the kitchen, dining room and food storage areas
Required skills:
- Sound cooking experience and a passion for producing quality, wholesome food
- An understanding of dietary nutrition and food hygiene practices
- High level of organisation skills and ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to work in a safe manner
