The West Tamar Council are seeking a passionate Statutory Planner to join our dynamic team. You'll have a vital role in transforming the future of our region by assessing development applications, providing expert advice, and contributing to strategic planning initiatives.

Here's what you'll do:
- Manage and assess planning applications, ensuring they comply with regulations and contribute positively to our beautiful region.
- Liaise with developers, community groups, and government bodies, finding solutions that benefit everyone.
- Strategically shape West Tamar's future by assisting with plan amendments and policy development.
- Lead communications by clearly explain complex planning matters to both internal and external stakeholders.
We're looking for someone who:
- Tertiary qualification in Town Planning.
- Ideally has experience working in local government or the private planning sector.
- Strong knowledge of planning legislation and knows relevant instruments inside-out.
- Thrives in a collaborative team environment and fosters positive relationships.
- Has excellent written and verbal communication skills - you can break down complex concepts for anyone!
- Is a problem-solving pro who can navigate challenging situations.
- Holds a current driver's licence.
