This role gives a customer-service hero the opportunity to expand on their existing retail management skills in an independent but strongly supported environment. It suits a practical individual with proven auto mechanical aptitude (WA Repairer's Certificate desirable but not required) and strong time-management skills who has the initiative to run the store like it is their own business - managing the day-to-day operational functions of a store with autonomy.
The successful candidate will be joining an established and well-respected brand with an Australia-wide network of locally owned branches. Our team covers five locations in the southern Perth region (Maddington, Welshpool, Caning Vale, Belmont & Osborne Park) and the successful candidate may train across these branches before taking the helm at our Welshpool location.
At Battery World there’s never a dull moment – we fit watch batteries one minute and truck batteries the next. Extensive training (and free uniform) is provided so that you’ll be able to fit in with our energetic team of Batteryologists. You’ll work across retail and workshop, indoors and outdoors, with heavy lifting also involved.
To be successful in this senior position you’ll need to be 'hands-on' doing the same work as your team as well as leading them, a self-motivated leader possessing an eye for detail; and, an energy and enthusiasm to bring the ‘WOW’ to every interaction. You will have a desire to win; and, the ability to solve problems and ‘just make it happen’ every time.
Permanent full-time, up to $35.78/hr base + Super + options for regular paid overtime + monthly bonus (opportunity for a six figure package!!) Plus potential for private use 4WD dual cab to be included for the right candidate.

WHAT YOU’VE GOT FOR US
- Experience leading, managing and motivating small teams (1+ direct reports)
- High standards, in every aspect of your operations and a real eye for detail
- Mechanical or auto-electrical experience (Experience working with batteries and/or DC power products is desirable).
- A current manual ‘C’ class WA drivers licence.
- Initiative and the ability to work autonomously (but also knowing when to ask for help!).
- Can do attitude with customer services as a focus.
- Organisational, time management and planning skills that are second to none and will see your store running like a well oiled machine
- Ability to work a rotating roster including alternate Saturdays
