Store Manager - Murgon

We are currently looking for a highly motivated, passionate retail leader to become a Store Manager in our Murgon IGA store. You will be responsible for the overall performance and operations of the store, ensuring that maximum sales, profit and customer satisfaction are achieved through effective merchandising, pricing and inventory control. You may be required to work a rotational roster which may include weekends and public holidays. Your leadership skills will be continuously utilized as you perform your role in this fast paced environment.

Essential Criteria

1. High level of personal integrity and accountability for performance
2. Demonstrate an exceptional level of customer service
3. Previous management experience and skills
   • Ability to lead and manage a large team (previous management experience of a medium-large sized team essential, including rostering)
   • Experience with successful conflict management within a workplace
   • Can demonstrate ability to follow company policies and procedures (inc. disciplinary action)
   • Experience in selection and induction of new staff
   • Experience with performance management (including performance appraisals, identifying skill gaps, assisting staff with knowledge and skill development)
   • Experience in training and coaching staff in various work areas and topics
4. Demonstrate significant expertise and understanding of merchandising techniques
5. Demonstrate a strong understanding of how to monitor and control shrinkage
6. Significant experience in stock rotation and stock management (including ordering & returns)
7. Strong understanding of WH&S and food safety requirements and regulations
8. Experience in consistently exceeding sales targets and meeting various budget requirements (such as wage budgets)
9. Able to communicate clearly and negotiate with people from different backgrounds and roles (such as suppliers, customers, staff, external entities)
10. Good level of computer skills
11. Very good literacy and numeracy skills (for example: ability to interpret sales figures and calculate targets, manage and allocate wage budgets, coordinate stocktakes, comprehend company policies and various legislation, write and compile reports)

Preferred Criteria

1. Significant retail industry experience strongly preferred
2. Significant grocery/stock management experience strongly preferred
3. Experience within fresh food highly regarded
