Tamborine Mountain just a 50 minute drive from the heart of Brisbane or the Gold Coast Surrounded by rainforest, the mountain’s meandering country roads reveal breathtaking views inland and out to the coast, and the mountain is blessed with award-winning wineries, distilleries and breweries, great food and coffee, weekend markets and artisan shops and galleries offering a captivating blend of old and new-world charm.
As a Retail Manager at Mobil Tamborine, the selected candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the petrol station. They will lead a team of employees to ensure exceptional customer service, efficient store operations, and the achievement of business goals.
The role itself will report directly to the Operations Manager/management.
To be considered for this role, you will need to possess a strong work ethic, hands-on attitude and demonstrate initiative and determination to make things happen by delivering inspirational leadership, support, and guidance to Staff. Preference for those who live within 25Km.
Retail Managers primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Team Leadership:
- The Retail Manager will lead, motivate, and manage a team of retail staff to deliver excellent customer service.
- Managing all aspects of service station and convenience store operations.
- They will provide training and support to employees, ensuring they are well equipped to perform their duties effectively.
- Creating a positive work environment that fosters teamwork, collaboration, and a strong work ethic will be part of their role.
- Identify, coach and nurture internal staff to provide opportunities for career advancement within the business.
- Driving fuel and convenience store sales, controlling costs and margins to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
Customer Service:
- The Retail Manager will always ensure that customers receive prompt and courteous service.
- They will address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and promptly.
- They will maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming store environment.
Inventory Management:
- Overseeing product ordering, stocking, and inventory control, including fuel, snacks, and convenience items.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to minimise waste and optimise sales.
Financial & Operational Management:
- Assisting in budget development and monitoring store performance against financial targets.
- Implementing cost control measures to maximise profitability.
- Preparing and reviewing daily sales reports and cash handling procedures.
- Drive store profitability through operational excellence and loss prevention.
- Implementing improvements and upgrades to drive sales.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensuring that the store complies with all relevant regulations, including health and safety standards.
- Maintaining accurate records of transactions and inventory for reporting and auditing purposes.
- Management of all day-to-day site operational issues, including and not limited to repairs and maintenance, rostering and staff matters, planning and IT support.
Marketing and Promotions:
- Collaborating with marketing teams to implement sales promotions and marketing initiatives.
- Displaying and promoting products effectively to drive sales and meet revenue goals.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Full Australian Working Rights
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service orientation.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and point-of-sale systems.
- Knowledge of inventory management and financial analysis.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Available do shift work and customer service.
