About the Role:
Foodbank is looking for a Full-time Driver / Store person who will be responsible for safe handling and movement of stock at their Perth branch. This role includes the overall safe operating responsibility and accountability of the transport and warehouse functions, including; forklift operation, truck driving and general warehouse duties as directed by the supervisor. A key part of this role involves working with volunteer staff and paid employees, requiring strong communication skills.
Key responsibilities will also include:
- Operate a forklift to load and unload delivery trucks, move stock around the premises as directed, and maintain a tidy backyard by properly stacking pallets and empty bins.
- Receive and accurately record donated stock and prepare stock for dispatch to regional branches and remote agencies accurately recording weights.
- Replenish stock volumes on the Agency Floor, the chilled, frozen and retail areas, and remove empty pallets and packaging. Check date codes.
- Complete compliance checks to ensure adherence to HACCP and OH&S requirements.
- Deliver product to freight companies for on forwarding to Regional Foodbanks and regional and remote destinations.
- Demonstrated experience in warehouse and store procedures
- Ability to work alone and also in a group environment, especially with volunteer staff
- Strength and ability to handle regular lifting of warehouse items
- Knowledge of HACCAP Processes and OH&S procedures (desirable)
Ability to obtain and provide the following:
- Medical assessment of current health
- National Police clearance
- Working with Children Check
- Current and valid driver’s licence
- Current licence to drive a truck (MR, HR)
- Current and valid Forklift licence
