Job description

Shangri-La Sydney is the city's leading luxury hotel. Located in the historic Rocks district between the Sydney Opera and Harbour Bridge, our hotel offers 564 spacious and inspired luxury guest rooms and suites, 4 food & beverage outlets, and 18 function rooms.

An exciting opportunity has become available for the right candidate to join Shangri-La Sydney for a permanent part-time storeperson position with the opportunity transition into Full-time from July 1st should they be the right candidate.

The role will be mainly focussed on stores and inventory, however, will also assist with receiving for all inbound goods.

The role will require flexibility with working days and will require 3-5 days per week depending on the business demands

About your new role:

  • Organize loading dock morning and evening as per Shangri-La Standard.
  • Operate computer system and procurement system.
  • Assists receiving officer to organize deliveries and reconcile as per invoice/P.O.
  • Operate the Electronic pallet jack to unload pallets from trucks.
  • Review email requests and respond.
  • Review store requests and raise new stock orders if required.
  • Pick store requests for Beverage/General/Food.
  • Issue store requests with full sign-off from department as per SOP.
  • Close stock requests by fulfilling procurement system transfer.
  • Receive all deliveries, and move stock into stores practicing FIFO.
  • Inform outlets of pending stock requets for pick-up and supplier stock deliveries.
  • Follow-up supplier orders and ETA for MIT directly with suppliers.
  • Receive all invoices with matching Purchase Order onto the procurement system with accuracy.
  • Inform DOP/Service Manager of any pricing discrepancies for follow-up.
  • Assist storeperson to conduct Stocktake for all stores.
  • Assist storeperson to input stocktake on to the procurement system.

About You:

  • Previous experience working in a procurement role in a similar scale 5-star hotel or similar size business 
  • Willingness and can-do attitude to assist in hotels' overall procurement objectives 
  • Knowledge of computer-based systems including Check SCM or similar inventory management systems
  • Knowledge of correct use of safe work practices 
  • Availability to work to up to 38-hour week schedule (generally Monday to Friday)
  • Have full Australian working rights
