About the Opportunity

This is a newly created role for an experienced Equipment Manager to join our team of professionals working closely on defining new tools and equipment that will continue to support ASC’s various programs of work including both Collins Class Submarine Sustainment and Life of Type Extension (LOTE).

Based in Osborne, South Australia, this is a pivotal role in ASC’s ongoing commitment to maintaining Australia’s fleet of submarines into the future.

Responsibilities include:

• Accurate identification and specification of industrial manufacturing equipment
• Development of a comprehensive equipment list for major and minor, fixed and portable equipment
• Leadership of a team of equipment engineers and specialists in creating detailed specifications and Statements of Work for supply chain
• Active participation in equipment selection, supplier qualification, design reviews, factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, qualification, training, and final acceptance
• Leading safety risk assessments and ensuring compliance with Australian Regulations and Standards

About you 

• Demonstrated experience delivering technical projects within the industrial manufacturing industry
• Specific experience within the Maritime industry will be highly regarded
• Experience project managing equipment procurement, design, manufacturing, installation and/or commissioning work
• Experience leading a team of technical personnel in complex and unique industrial environments
• Knowledge of systems engineering and ‘requirements management’ principles
• Proven negotiation skills and able to engage professionally and constructively in a complex stakeholder environment

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
