The full-time position of Stores / Purchasing Assistant is based at our manufacturing facility situated at Josephville, located approximately 90 km south of Brisbane.
About the Role
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Daily purchasing of goods and communicating with preferred suppliers
- Receiving & checking of goods (quantity and quality) against purchase orders / delivery dockets etc
- Maintaining agreed stock levels of consumables for internal customers
- Liaising with suppliers for purchasing, pricing, and availability
- Performing periodic cycle counting
- Assisting with annual stocktake
- Ensuring housekeeping in the store/s is to a high standard
- Ensuring Purchasing Policies and Procedures are complied with.

About You
The successful applicant will be able to cope with a varied workload, be a good team player with a proactive attitude, be responsible and reliable, and be able to prioritise and take ownership of all tasks given. The candidate must be professional and courteous as well as adopt a flexible approach to their work.
Previous work experience in procurement and / or stores and knowledge of manufacturing trades (mechanical / electrical) would be advantageous. In addition, experience and knowledge in the following areas would be highly regarded, however, training will be provided to the right candidate:
- Solid understanding of purchasing and inventory control principles
- Customer Service
- Intermediate Computer Skills (Microsoft Office)
- Time management
- Communication and negotiating skills
- Facilitate accurate and timely paperwork flow with attention to detail
- Forklift Licence (or willing to obtain)
