About the Opportunity
We are currently looking for a motivated, experienced and adaptable person to join our Strategy, Insights & Performance Program. You will play a key role in shaping organisational strategies and policies to enable delivery of Council’s vision through the City of Adelaide Strategic Plan 2024-2028. This role leads and coordinates the development, delivery and review of Council strategies, plans, frameworks, strategic approaches, and policy positions in a way that delivers upon community needs and presents Council as a valuable partner to do business with.
With the release of our Strategic Plan 2024 – 2028, this role will focus on:
Developing and implementing a Strategic Management Framework to ensure the delivery of Council’s vision and strategic intent.
Providing advice and supporting the development of Council policies and strategies through building organisational understanding of the Strategic Management Framework.
Coordinating and supporting the review and ongoing governance of strategies across the City of Adelaide by developing long-term planning approaches, maintenance of good governance, management of strategic risks and consideration of intergenerational planning and management of resources.
Establishing, monitoring, and advising on community and council area information, profiles, data sets and dashboards which guide strategy and policy development.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
Experience in Strategic Planning, performance monitoring, reporting and policy experience, preferably in a government environment.
Substantial understanding of broader demographic and economic data for community profiling purposes.
Substantial knowledge of the political, environmental, social, technological, economic and legislative environment in South Australia.
An understanding and knowledge on the use and interrogation of key economic and demographic data sources to enable strategy and policy development and decision-making in a local government context.
Ability to establish integrated planning and reporting solutions that promote transparency and accountability to achieve community outcomes.
