Full-time – Ongoing

Position Number: 4106                     Location: Queanbeyan

The Package: $80,425.28 - $88,868.00 gross per annum + 11% super. (Evaluated as Grade 12 of the QPRC Salary System 2023) and guaranteed increases of 3.5% in 2024-25 and 3% in 2025-26, plus potential performance-based progression.

Full time– 35 hours per week. Flex time conditions may apply.                                                   

Are you passionate about protecting the environment, and looking for an opportunity to work strategically with the local built and natural environments? Council is seeking an Urban and Regional Planner to join the Land-Use Planning Branch. 

In this role you will:

• Assist with the delivery of key strategic planning documents and reports.
• Plan for development outcomes that provide for the future needs of the community.
• Work towards environmental protection standards.
• Promote a standard of amenity that meets community expectations.
• Ensure Council complies with legislative requirements relevant to land use planning.

We are looking for someone who: 

• Possesses Tertiary Qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning and/or demonstrated relevant experience.
• Can complete strategic land use planning projects/tasks to a high standard.
• Demonstrates understanding of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and other relevant legislation.
