The Aegis Combat System (ACS) Directorate coordinates the delivery and sustainment of the ACS and associated Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC) elements as a sub-program in order to optimise the capability outcome within the allocated resources. Our primary objective is to coordinate project and product activities across all phases of the Capability Life Cycle in support of the continuous development, delivery, sustainment and disposal of the ACS in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN).
The ACS Directorate manages the RANs materiel sustainment requirements under the CN60 Product Schedule (PdS), which is complimentary to the CN40 PdS materiel sustainment requirements for Navys Guided Missile Destroyer Group (DDG) platforms and is covered in greater detail under CN60 Aegis Capability.
The ACS Directorate is responsible for the establishment and day-to-day management of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Cases (and consequently has a heavy reliance and mature series of engagements with the United States Navy) on behalf of several Major Surface Combatants Combat Systems (MSCCS) Division acquisition projects, these projects include:
SEA 4000 Phase 6: Hobart Class Destroyer (DDG) Combat System Upgrade
SEA 5000 Phase 1: Hunter Class Frigates (FFG)
SEA 1300 Phase 1: Navy Guided Weapons
From an ACS perspective, SEA4000-6 and SEA5000-1 will be delivering a Surface Combatant Class System (SCCS) Baseline 9 ACS through FMS for both the DDG and FFG. SEA1300-1 will be acquiring a Tomahawk Weapon System through FMS for increased lethality of the ACS. FMS Case AT-P-LFZ is the major acquisition FMS Case used for the above ACS elements. FMS Case AT-P-LCQ also provides acquisition and support for the DDG upgrade (under Project SEA4000-6) and Hunter Class FFG (under Project SEA5000-1).
Requirement:
Aegis Directorate is seeking a Strategic Product Manager. Ideally this is someone who would perform the Deputy Director Aegis Combat System functions. The suitable candidate is expected to be able to operate with autonomy, within broad guidance and direction. It is expected the individual will be able to provide specialist advice assisting in the management and maturing of core elements of the Aegis sub-program.
Broad guidance is as follows:
Manage Product organisational interdependencies, including:
Stakeholder management
Organisational governance
Financial management
Resource management
Risk management
Conduct planning, scheduling and development of Strategic plans, processes and procedures including associated reviews and clearance.
Outcomes:
The Strategic Product Manager will be responsible for the following the outcomes:
Business improvement identification and realisation
Product strategies and plans
Reports, briefings, workshops and presentations
Product support functions, controls and implementation activities
Advise on Product implementation and activities
Specific outcomes sought which will be revised upon successful delivery and/or implementation as applicable:
Stakeholder Management Plan
Lessons Program Management Plan, including the implementation, coordination and facilitation on an as agreed periodic basis
Monthly Product Review, including the implementation, coordination and facilitation of all Aegis Functional Lead inputs, as well as collation of financial data.
