About the role
Our high-performing Strategy Team is focused on delivering an ambitious growth aspiration whilst also embedding a robust productivity agenda. The Strategy team works hand-in-hand with the executive leadership team to iterate & communicate the enterprise-level strategy, develop & deliver functional strategies and manage our portfolio of cross-functional programs to achieve our vision. We are fortunate to be at the heart of decision making and are in a unique position to have a material impact on the whole business, customers and team members.
This Strategy Manager position will partner with Officeworks' Supply Chain function, playing a lead role in development and delivery of strategies to transform and optimise warehouse and transport operations. This role is designed to be agile and will present the opportunity to lead a variety of projects. Examples may include Supply Chain network design, operations cost and efficiency optimisation and systems selection and implementation.
This is a great opportunity to leverage your skills from a consulting, strategy or transformation background and apply to a dynamic industry role. This position provides the opportunity to think strategically, set a direction and perform implementation activities to drive tangible business outcomes. It will allow you to develop a deep understanding of the business, establish relationships with cross-functional stakeholders at all levels and build the skills required to progress within the organisation. This is a high-influence position where you will need to build a case for change and take stakeholders along the journey to achieve outcomes.
Key activities include:
- Conduct internal and external analysis to inform strategic thinking and formulation of recommendations
- Develop strategies and solutions to transform and optimise Officeworks' Supply Chain, consider the pros and cons, trade-offs, implications and risks of a variety of options to make informed decisions
- Create presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders and SMEs to identify, evaluate and execute strategic initiatives
- Develop business cases and conduct cost-benefit analysis to evaluate the impact of strategic initiatives
- Partner with business stakeholders to lead strategy delivery activities including implementation and execution of initiatives or projects
- Build strong relationships with SMEs across suppliers, Supply Chain and store operations
Tertiary qualified with 8+ years of relevant industry and/or management consulting experience, your focus is strategy development and delivery to achieve growth and profitability objectives.
Experience in Supply Chain is necessary, experience in retail is preferred.

- You are a structured, logical thinker who uses a data-led approach to identify opportunities and solve complex business problems. You have a bias for driving outcomes and are comfortable switching between blue-sky thinking and on-the-ground implementation
- You are commercially and financially astute and enjoy evaluating the trade-offs of key decisions to land on the most suitable option
- You are an exceptional communicator with the ability to tell compelling business stories and articulate complex narratives. You build strong stakeholder relationships, possess an ability to influence and establish yourself as a trusted advisor
- You enjoy cross-functional engagement and working with team members across a variety of functions to achieve common goals
- You have a high level of competency with MS Suite including PowerPoint and Excel
- You are comfortable in an ambiguous and changing environment; you welcome and embrace change
